Problem with deleting items...

I'm not sure if this topic is supposed to be in this area, but I wasn't sure were else to put it.

I'm having trouble deleting some unwanted videos that have saved themselves to one of my folders. When I right click on them there's no option to delete them. I tried highlighting them, then pressing the "Delete" button, but that doesn't work either.

Is there anyway I can get rid of these videos without wiping my hard drive or deleting my entire folder? I have a lot of important stuff on my computer that I can't risk losing.

If anyone knows what to do, I would be most appreciative of some help. Thank you in advance.

try deleting them by using dos.
open dos by typing cmd in "run".
navigate to the folder in which they are stored and manually delete them by using del (filename).

I've been using computers since I was a kid, but, unfortunately, I was never trained in DOS, so I'm not sure what to do to find those videos:(

change view to LIST!

kill EXPLORER.EXE

control alt delete to bring up task manager

find it and end process

RUN explorer.exe again

delete the darn thing.

in dos,
type: cd <directory name> and press enter

do this until u reach the directory where u have saved those videos.

now , type del (file name) and press enter. do this till u delete all those unnecessary files.

stop saying DOS, the proper name is command prompt or prompt, DOS is an OS

hey sorry patrickv, my bad, ur right, it is an os. :) ... im lazy to type command prompt, it takes so long

thanks for all the tips everyone.

i tried going into safe mode today, but even that didn't seem to help. i'll try it again and hopefully something will work out this time around. i'll also check out that file shredding site. all i need to do is get rid of two videos and that's it, so if that works then i'm all for it.

okay, i just finished downloading and installing that file shredder program. i tried to add the two videos to the list but it said they are invalid:( so even that can't help me.
