problem with firewire card for laptop

hi, i dont know much about computers so i would really appreciate your help! I recently bought a firewire card for my laptop as it has no integrated firewire port, so I can capture footage from a mini dv camera. My problem is that as soon as I slide the card in the computer, the computer freezes. I tried to slide it in when the computer is shut down and then start it, but it freezes while starting. The card I have says its "plug and play" and it says that its compatible with vista (wich is the OS i have).

My computer is an Acer aspire5630 ( not too sure about all the specs) and my card is a Dynex DX-PC202 http://www.dynexproducts.com/pc-507-2-dynex-ieee-1394-firewire-2-port-pcmcia-card.aspx

you need drivers for it. did the card come with a cd? if not, look up the model number in google and download the appropriate drivers.
 
it did not come with a CD. I tried to get drivers from the web but didnt managed to find any for this card...
