Problem with gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 rev 1.2

So just bought this motherboard connected the following

CPU - AMD phenom II x6 1090t
PSU - Corsair 650w
SSD - Ocz 120gb
DVD DRIVE - blu ray player
RAM - x2 4GB corsair 1600mhz
Graphics Card - Sapphire 6870

everything runs ok, fans.. Power supply.. But it doesn't load the bios screen on my monitor so I can't actually do anything

Ok so nearly there, i don't know what solved the problem but i cleaned my cpu and reapplied thermal compound maybe it had too much.

but next problem.. windows logo appears and restarts computer, both hard drives i've got were used before on previous computers. shall i clean install of windows 7?

Yes, you're going to need to wipe and reinstall a fresh copy of Windows.

it's all working now, didn't need to reinstall windows...

i just plugged my ssd using the l shaped sata cables like it said in the manual and used slot 0 for it and it started working..

Don't even know if that was the problem but its working now that's all that matters

The problem so you know is that Windows stores a hardware layer in it's configuration and when you swap motherboards if the chipset is not exact or close it will bomb out on you. A "repair" of windows will usually get you around that.

i tried windows repair too, even when i was getting 2 options of starting windows normally and fixing start up i wasn't able to use the keyboard to select a function..

its all good though so far..working a treat
