Problem With Included Wireless Device

Hello, I am currently experiencing an issue with a wireless device I am using and am hoping for some guidance.

I bought a new laptop somewhat recently, and when I first got it could not make the pre-included wireless device work quite correctly. It could connect fine, but it would act in spurts, working perfectly okay for 5 seconds, then stalling out for 3 or so, then starting to work again, etc.

I got around the problem by using a USB adapter, but to make a long story short, it broke, and I'm back to using the pre-included stuff.

The adapter is:

Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN card

I am using Windows Vista 64-bit.

I have downloaded new drivers for the device, but they seemingly changed nothing.

I know this is a problem specifically with this device as I was using the other wireless adapter for months with no problem.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you might have a bad wifi card in your laptop. I would suggest getting a different one and try swapping it out and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't you can always return the card. Also if this doesn't fix the problem it may be a problem with the actual slot on the motherboard rather than an issue with the card.
