problem with internet form info saving

I've been having this problem for about a year now and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. Its not a major issue but it really is getting more and more annoying. First of all I have an old Dell Dimension with Windows XP and I use Mozilla Firefox. Anyway the problem is I can't get firefox to save any of my form data and websites will not keep me logged in even though I click the option. For example I check my hotmail often and I always click remember me on this computer and it won't even do that. Every single time I go to hotmail, my ebay, any forums, etc etc etc, I always have to re enter ALL of my information (email or login name and password). And no I do not delete the form info in Mozilla's options - I never have. Anybody have any idea what could be causing this very annoying issue???

Hmm not sure whats causing the issue and Hotmail never saves my password even with Firefox i think its a bug but owell try this,

1, Google "CCleaner" (Without Quotes)
2, Download CCleaner
3, Open CCleaner
4, Click the "Applications" tab
5, Scroll to Mozilla Firefox and check EVERY box!
6, Click "Analyze"
7, When finished analyzing, Click "Run Cleaner"

Then try re-saving your passwords when prompted!

P.S Make sure Firefox is closed when you run the cleaner!

I tried CCleaner, it didn't work. Mozilla will not remember my passwords. Some sites it does have my user name stored but will not bring up the password. I do have the option selected to remember passwords too. Another thing is this website and other similar forums will not remember me either (I select the option on the website itself and that should keep me signed in but it won't). Even if I just close Mozilla and open it back up everything is gone. WTF?!?!? I've never had a problem like this with any other computer I've used.

There is also another weird thing that Mozilla is doing, maybe it is related: once in a while (and especially when I first open Mozilla) it will freeze for about 3 to 5 seconds, everything will just stop - I can't click or type anything on the Mozilla window for those few seconds then it just starts going again.

Hmm, Im trying to think of a way round this only other option i would suggest is either re-install Firefox maybe there was errors when installing it? Or Search Google to see if anyone else has the same problem and its been resloved?

Good Luck!

Mozilla has a forum site where you can ask questions and post any problems. I actually found a post from a person who had a similar problem but it was with a much older version of Firefox so I just started a new problem topic. Hopefully they already have a solution for this...

I suggest you try using some Firefox Addons such as Foxmarks. Foxmarks remembers and saves your bookmarks and passwords onto their server.

The problem is fixed, I looked through the list of "solved problems" threads on that Mozilla site and found one - I had to create a new profile for Mozilla Firefox (something that I didn't even know existed). It wasn't that much trouble but I don't think very many people know about it considering that there is no icon in the Mozilla folder to open profile manager - you HAVE to go to run in the start menu and type -P after firefox.exe to get it open. Then to back up your data (like bookmarks) you have to open a hidden folder with data files in it and copy them to the new profile. I don't see how anybody could possibly know about this unless they read the procedure that I did. But I do have to say that doing this would probably fix a lot of different problems with Firefox so if your having any let me know...
