Hello gusy,

I have problem with my new mouse pad. My mouse is moving very slowly and sometimes get stuck on the mouse pad. I thought there is something wrong with the mouse and I cleaned the bottom part of the mouse. Even after that the problem was continuing. So I bought a new mousepad, which is getting stuck more than the first one.

What is this problem?????? How can I remove this problem???

All suggestions are welcome

are you using a mouse with a ball, or an optical mouse?

if you're using an optical mouse, do yourself a favor and get a hard plastic mouspad. i got one at bestbuy for $15 for my g5, and it's fantastic

Yeah, I thought that too. So I cleaned it (but not with alcahol and qtip) and still the problem is there.

By the way, what u mean by qtip???

Hmm

What kind of a mousepad is it? Is it a cloth one or a plastic one? Are there any teflon sliders on the bottom of the mouse? If, so, are those clean? My best suggestion in any case would be to replace the ball mouse and buy a good laser/optical mouse. The ball mice are obsolete and a pain in the (you know what) to maintain.

JAN :D

You could take the ball out and clean the little bars that the ball rolls around on. Im pretty sure they would have dirty and stuff built up on them.

when you say you cleaned the bottem, did you remove the ball and clean the rollers? often dirt will build up around them.

if you did (or do) and the problem STILL happens, then its time to clean the rollers inside the mouse. inside the mouse, the rollers have a slotted wheel on the end of them which spins next to an infra red (or some other type) detector and emitter. as the slotted wheel turns, it blocks/allows the infra red light thus telling the circuitry its moving. sometimes, the dirt that gathers on the rollers can move over to these wheels and fill the slots in them, then the wheels can't allow light threw.

a mouse is easy to take apart, theres usually only one screw. if needed, the rollers can usually easily be snapped out and back in.
if you end up breaking something in the process...mice are cheap.

lol. thanks. i think that was it. There is two type of rolling thing inside the mouse. (It was covered with some kind of mud..eeeeeewwwwwww.....)I just cleaned it and it is working well. Thanks brother. Thank you all ....
