problem with my usb mice

Alright so, a couple of weeks ago, my razer copperhead mouse started acting up. I would move the mouse, and the cursor would barely move, it would skip across the screen, and all that good stuff. So, naturally I cleaned the bottom of the mouse, re-installed all drivers, and updated my motherboards usb drivers. To no avail, the mouse was still skipping. So, I naturally assumed the thing was broken. However, after plugging in my logitech g5 mouse, it was doing the same thing in the game that my razer mouse was doing. Well, it did it in windows and in the game. I have tried switching usb ports, re-installing drivers, almost everything I can think of.....

What are the odds of ever usb port going bad? Any suggestions you guys could have for me would be REALLY helpful....

in case you need to know, i have a dfi lan party ultra-d mobo with an amd 4000+ cpu.

i have 4 usb ports used right now, including this gimpy mouse.

oh, and nothing else that i use usb messes up like the mice do, so i am at my wits end.. thanks for all the help ahead of time.

It is possible that the USB controller is going fritzy on you. But, also you would likely be having random problems with other USB devices as well... If you haven't in awhile, and you have the time it might be a good idea to do a clean install of Windows. You may have a rogue program/problem that is causing this that isn't easily removable...
