So my pc has been running great for the past 2 weeks and all of a sudden it just shut off a while ago. So I turned it back on and it was fine for a couple of minutes and it just went off again with no warning.

Now I can't turn it on. The green led light is still on the motherboard though.

Please help me, what's wrong with my PC ?

Anyone ?
Ive tried different cables, different mains. Pretty sure nothing is shorting the motherboard. 24pin and 8pin power cables are plugged in ok.

I would think the motherboard is fine as the standby led is on, so Im assuming the PSU is fine also ?

Please anyone ? I desperately need it working by 7pm tonight.

No, everything just shut down instantly with no warning.

Now nothing powers at all, no fans or anything but the standby led light on the motherboard is still lighten

I would suspect the PSU. Got another to try?

Not one that is capable of powering up this system. However I could try this PSU in my other system to test it, is it possible to fit a 24 pin power connector to a 20pin motherboard ?

So its not the motherboard in your signature? The 4 pin connector should be able to pull away from the 20pin connector. Have you tried resetting the cmos?

No I meant try the bad PSU in my old system to check if it works in that.

You can try it but its not recommended if it is a bad psu unless you don't care about your old system. I think everyone needs to buy a psu tester to have, they come in very handy at times.

Oh, I might not do that then, I still use my old system from time to time. What else can I do to test the PSU ? I don't really want to wait for a PSU tester to arrive.

I did a paper clip test with the PSU and it ran fine with the nzxt fan controller. Now what can I do ?

So I took everything out of the case. I tried powering up with just the CPU and Heatsink installed on a cardboard box and it still didn't power up. Nothing at all even though the green LED light on the motherboard is still glowing. What can I do now ?

Anyone ? Desperately need help.

I'm going to suggest that the motherboard is probably bad, did you take any ESD precautions when handling the hardware?

Yeah, I was building on wooden floor, Wearing the less "static sensitive" clothes and I was constantly making contact to ground myself.

I doubt it is static since I haven't been in the case since I built it and it has been working fine for 2 weeks.

So, I'm going to have to test the power supply with a multimeter to make sure then ?

The PSU is an Antec True Power which is supposedly a high quality one that is designed to protect the equipment.
