Problem with new drive

I've had a SanDisk Extreme SSD 120GB for a while now and i quite like it so i decided to get another, so first time i plug it in i try to boot, nothing. So i check the boot order in the BIOS, it shouldnt have even been trying to boot from the new drive, so i unplug it and boot and instantly brings me to windows. I plug it back in, same issue. Keep in mind that this is a blank drive and wont even let me put it into my system. So i cant boot with it plugged in.
 
If the ssd is blank then there is nothing to boot to. Most likely the bios has changed your hdd boot order. Go in there and select the correct one and save changes.

It sounds like that's exactly what he did try.

When you boot up, you can press a key to enter the boot menu (it should tell you what key to press), if you do that and select your old SSD what happens?
 
If I just select the normal drive to boot from the same thing happens. The only way I can get it do boot is if the new drive is not plugged into the system as of right now
 
Update motherboard BIOS.
Update motherboard drivers... particularly Intel drivers from Intel website
Change SATA connections and cables
Set default BIOS settings
