problem with new HDD...

i bought this HDD off newegg.com and installed it into a friends computer... now i tried to boot it up and it's stuck at "Auto Detecting IDE Primary Master" which is where it's set at... it's jumper is set at "Master w/ Slave Present" because he has a Iomega Zip Drive set up as the slave...

i've tried everything i can think of... even down to having it as the only drive plugged in, and the Auto Detect can't find the drive... and i plugged it into another computer setting around and the drive isn't DOA...

any ideas?

no :o... gimme a minute and i'll try it...

EDIT: tried changing the cable out... doesn't work... tried both different cables with both of the IDE connectors... nothing... i think i mentioned that i tried the new drive in a different computer and i just tried a different HDD in his computer...

anything else?

Yes it's compatible. I'm not sure what's going on, I'll think about it a bit. In the mean time someone might come up with something overnight.

i figured so... i hope it's soon, he owes me $80 as soon as i'm done... but i get none if it doesn't work :(...

thanks for the ideas... and i'm still accepting them :)...
