problem with new keyboard and mouse..

recently i baught a new microsoft wireless 1.1 set off ebay. i plugged it in and its working fine and stuff, but then i want my computer to standby,, it doesnt stand-by! i figured out that it was the usb for the wireless mouse. so i took it out and hit sleep on my keyboard and the computer stand byed. i installed the software and re-booted and tried to sleep again, but it still didnt work..but the thing is.. i have my printer usb in there and it doesnt affect it at all.

BTW its in the back..so the usb wont be able to reach the front..

anyone know what might be causing this??
 
It's just a problem that some wireless mice have... I think it has something to do with how it's always sending a signal, whether it's moving or not. I always just turn my monitor off when I leave me computer... that's better for it than a screen saver anyway.
 
i dont think ur gettin the picture of the situation dude. i dont think it has anything to do with what it is.. the fact im trying to make here is that.. whenever i plug that specific device the usb port in the back the computer wont turn off / stand-by.

I think PohTayToez knows what you mean. Some wireless USB mice won't allow you to put your computer into standby. So basically what he's saying is instead of going into standby mode, just turn off your monitor.
 
Yeah, instead of putting my computer into standby mode, I just let it turn off the monitor after a bit, and then it will eventually power off some other stuff since my mouse doesn't seem to suspend "moving" either.
