Problem with PC.

Hello. Uhmmm... sometimes (rarely) my PC will freeze and/or all my desktop icons will disappear and I have to restart. Then some times when I restart my PC do to the freeze up's and icons disappearing, for some reason my SSD gets pushed down on the HDD list, which causes it to not boot, "no boot drive detected", so I have to push it to the top again(And on super rare occasions I have to flip the switch on the PSU off/on for it to see my SSD). I was wondering what could it be? SSD, Mobo, RAM...? It just gets annoying and I want to fix it. Thanks for any help I get. Tech Savvy.

Try resetting your BIOS back to the default settings and remove any overclocks you may have.

If you suspect the issue is caused by RAM, then remove one of your sticks and see if the problem still occurs. Or test your RAM for errors with Memtest86.

SSDs don't often go wrong but they do sometimes go wrong. Recently my Crucial M4 just died one day, the BIOS refused to detect it and it would no longer boot at all, but if your BIOS is still detecting it then I think it's more of a motherboard issue. You could always try using the SSD in another PC and see if the same thing happens regarding the boot order.

I think it may be a motherboard problem though. Just try resetting it and see if the problems go away.

Im getting a new Mobo soon, so if it still acting up after, I know if it's RAM or SSD.

Edit: And of course we all know, it's going to be one of the most expensive parts of my build that messed up, Mobo. Payed a year ago, around $280, which falls second most expensive part of build, under GPU, $289.
