Problem with SLI-card, monitor not starting

Hi all!

I´ve got a computer with a SLI card, (GeForce 6600 GT SLI PCI-E, with double cpu).

First off, my Windows stopped working. I came to the "Welcome to Windows"-screen, then I got a flicker followed by a reboot. Then the history repeated itself.
I tried with Safe Mode, and every other alternate booting method, without any result. I forced a bluescreen and got the message BAD_POOL_CALLER.

Maybe one of my DDRs was broke, I thought. I tested both of them separately without any result. Then I removed all the dust from my case.

Then, suddely, my monitor refused to start when I booted. It got signal, but showed nothing at all. "F^ck it"! My first thought was that my graphics card was also broke.

Now I don´t now how to solve this problem.
How to check things yet more?
And is there any way to "switch off" the other CPU on the sli-card?

Help would be greatly appreciated! :)

I´m not running a pair of the card, and I know how SLI works.
But when I read on nvidia´s page, they said that the GA-K8NXP-SLI card was in SLI mode, even if there ain´t two of them. That´s because it is a two-in-one card.

But my question is still: How do I check both of the cores on the graphics card separately to see which one is broken? And how to turn off one of the cores?

call nvidia. i dont think that your card has two cores.

No, hes right. There are some 6600GT's that have two cores. It's basically just like the 7950GX2, but with different model cards.

oh, in that case, it sounds like he either has a hardware issue or a driver issue.

Any idea how to solve it? I would like to start the computer from scratch.
Is it possible to reset the card?
 
Ah, well, I do seem to recall hearing something about them now. Sorry, I should of done a bit of research :o

There's nothing on the card to reset. If you want to start from scratch, just get your Windows disk, format your HD, and reload everything.
 
from what i hear.. you see the POST screen etc.. but as soon as the drives should take over.. the pc restarts?

try booting ino safe mode,. and uninstal the nvidia drivers.. reboot the pc, and download/instal the new drivers. I could immagine that works,.. since i had a simmilair problem with drivers on my sli setup :) (wich turned out i installed too old drivers :( )

The problem is, I can´t see nothing at all, neither the Post-screen.
I would like to see if any of the cores are burnt, or out of function.
How do I check the cores separately (One at a time, to see which one works), and how do I "turn off" one of them?

There are a lot of "options" on the hardware card, for example "Normal Mode" or "SLI mode".

I´m confused :confused:

I´ve tested all the modes, and didn´t get results from any of them.
My problem is still; my monitor is never getting signal from my graphics card (but it says it got contact).

My scenario:
I start my computer, nothing happens with the monitor (eg I can´t even see BIOS).
But the "Check signal cable" warning is gone.

I´m very, very confused, because yesterday it worked, but just until I turned my computer off. Then the same problem.

My thought about this is that the graphics card is not getting enough power (it is a real power-eater). But I´m cunfused because my power supply is far above the consuming level of my computer. (I even got a amplifier inside my computer to raise the power supply.
