ive got a "new" motherboard here, but in wont startup.
the first time ive started the pc, it started up windows 2K, and everything worked properly.
after that, ive checked the bois, to c if everything is alright there, and it looked like it was. i left the bios, without saving, but then the pc wouldnt startup.
the monitor stays on standby (so you dont even get the screen of the Fx card), and it starts beeping.
The diagnostic LED system indicates a RAM memory error, but i've put the ram into an other pc, and it was working properly.

Can it be, that somehow the bois is messed up? If so, can i reset it somehow. (because i couldnt find it on the internet.)

the things i have checked
Fx card (GeForce 2 GTS 32Mb) works perfect
RAM works
CPU is in a good condition.

hope someone can help me in this matter.
if you need more info, just email me.

I'm not sure, but to reset the BIOS, look for a little battery on your mobo, pull it out for about 10 sec and put it back in.

Never mind what I just said, to reset the BIOS you need to change a jumper for like 10 sec.

On the plus side, important jumpers on the KK266, like the Clear CMOS one here, have these nifty tall yellow jumper blocks with a pull-tab. The CCMOS jumper on most motherboards has a plain hard-to-grab jumper on it; that's all you get on the MSI board. Some boards just have a couple of solder pads that you have to bridge with a screwdriver. An illuminated toggle switch with "Better luck on the next overclocking attempt!" written on it in cheery letters would be better still, but I'll settle for these jumpers that I can easily use.

Use that to clear the CMOS

lol Bobo are you sure the last one is right? :P:D either pulling the battery or using the CMOS clear jumper should clear the settings

LOL if you need help to reset jumpers .... lol

what site did you find that info on my board?
because there is only 1 jumper on the whole board, an that one didnt clear the job. so i think i missed the right one.
i know.. i must look quite stupid now.. cant even find a jumper on a mainboard >.<. but still i have to ask ;) :)

Well you're gonna have to pull out the battery regardless ... not all mobos will reset without kicking in the jumper tho

Google for your mobo...

ive pulled the battery out, putted it back in (after more than a min.)
and i can only find 1 jumper on the mobo, so i putted that one on the other 2 pins of the 3. but nothing happend.
ow, and when i have the jumper on the other 2 contacts as it is usually, i cant even set pwer on so it starts beeping.
so i think the mobo is broke then :(
