problem with windows 7 pro and Microtek scanmaker S400 installation

Im at end of my wits with this hardware installation. I downloaded the installation for 32 bit windows 7. Ive pointed to the folder to install the driver and i don't know which one it is. I have windows 7 64bit. Ive uninstalled at least 5 times. Ive run in safe mode for the 32 bit installation. Works on XP pro just fine. Just says it can't find driver. Not much info at the manufacture for it. Email will take tell Monday at least for a response. Does anybody have any ideas? Ive unzipped scanned directory and cannot find driver.
thanks for any suggestions. Im convinced i can make it work though. Just another adventure. for meee..........

I wouldn't trust that its truly windows 7 compatible. After all the support page doesn't list vista as being compatible and you have 64bit W7 and only says supported with w7 32bit. You will most likely be forced to get a new scanner.
 
I have many software and hardware that works. Though you might be right since it does not work. You can run the program in compatibly 32bit mode.
Worse case i will leave on the xp machine since i have 5 computers. And all networked. Scan from the xp computer and save across the network to windows 7. Im investigating. thanks
just another obstacle.....againnnn.
