The problem im having is that i plug a USB removable device but it is not detected by windows.

the RHDD seems to be powered up due to its led flashing.

PLZ help me.?

have you tried more than one port, try different ones etc.... try the USB device in other PC's, see if its recognized... I take it your running windows XP? Failing all of that go into device manager and see if the device is listed in there anywhere (whilst its plugged in of course) if it is right click and select DISABLE or UNINSTALL, what might behappening is that when you take the drive out it isnt un-mounting properly so when you next go to plug it in, its as if it hasnt left, and is getting quite confused.

just a theory, give it a try.

It was in the device manager as Volume storage under usb, also there was an icon in the taskbar saying remove hardware,

but it never came up in the my computer

err obviously.
So it is being recognized.. but it is not showing up in your "My Computer" as a removable drive so you can use it? or something else..

Chances are it is trying to use a drive letter that is already taken by another device.. Go into Accessories > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management and you should see it there. Assign it another drive letter.

I went to the disk management console and it wasn't there.

not showing in my computer.

i tried to system restore to a time when i knew it was working but it didn't work.

It may be the drive, my old 40GB WD portable did that to me recently, showed up in device manager and everything, but it couldnt read or write, so it just showed up there. I would try the drive on something else.
