Problem with Zune

I just bought a Zune and I'm already about to break it in half. I installed the software and charged the thing. I can't update the firmware for some reason it gives me an error and says try again later. The biggest problem I'm having is I simply can't put anything on to it.

1st I installed the software then i connected the device and when I try to add playlists or songs over into the sidebar the Start Sync button never highlights so it never gets uploaded on the device even though my Zune says it's connected and the software.

anyone have any idea what to do? I'm sure it's something simple that I'm just overlooking. Also I'm running Vista Ultimate if that matters
 
my new saying. when windows finally builds something that does not suck, it is going to be a vacuum cleaner. :D just take it back if you can.
 
Problem Solved

I had to install the software on my Dads WinXP machine and everything worked fine. It wouldn't sync because i didn't have the firmware update so if anyone else has this problem make sure your player is updated. This just goes to show you once again that WinXP is still a better OS the Vista, at least from my experiences.
