Hey guys,

been having alot of problems with my pc lately,i thought it was vista just playing up but seems im having problems in Xp too.

ive been getting blue screens of death( Stop 0x000000F4),programs not responding, and just general sluggish pc and not what it was when i first built it.

its also failed to boot and stuck on my motherboard logo display which resulted im me having to restore all setting back to default and now it boots okay but something still not feels right.

i have a spare rig i can use for the time been so i want to put this main rig to the test and run loads of tests on it to see what is failing me.

first thing i think maybe my cd writer could be causing this? because i think its faulty
look:

other thought is maybe my ram? its overclocked from 667mhz to 772mhz (2.7Ghz) maybe thats failing me so how long should i run memtest for?

come to think of it aswell,my hard drive has been quite noisy these past few days,im not sure if it was the hard drive itself or it just vibrating in the case.

what you reccomend i do guys?

Did this problem occurred after a clean install (+format)? Or windows has been installed for some time? If it has been installed for a long time (like half an year or more) this may be your problem:

Do you remember installing any driver/software recently? You could try a system restore to undo that.

Try unplugging the cd writer and see if that help, or the faulty hardware piece.

haha yeah thats the damn error i get everytime i logon :D

back to the serius side of things,il unplug the drive and try and return it.

the windows install is a few days old, latest drivers and all.

nevermind i found out what the problem was,my overclock was not stable.

my northbridge needed a slight up in voltage ;)
