problems after installing windows 7.

hi i installed windows 7 home edition on my old pc( 5year old). and to start with everything was ok but when i restarted my monitor would not come on. i tested the monitor on different pc and its fine. could that indicate the grafix card problem or motherboard? thanks.
 
Did it go out as soon as you restarted windows or did it go out after post and windows 7 splash screen comes up? Have you tried resetting the video card or is it onboard video?
 
your video card might not be suported by windows 7,if you also have onboard video you could take out the card and boot it up and see if it starts then you would know if its the video card or not. Or you could try another video card if you had one laying around.
 
ii i want ask a favour about win 7... i bootup a pc with win 7, but while installing the windows i having a problem, the problem is win 7 is stuck to install when it reach at 50% and i have to wait for 2 hours to finishing the installing... can anyone help me...
