Problems installing Spore

OK, so I just bought Spore, but when I insert it into my DVD drive it won't read or anything, it doesn't even show up as having a disc in my drive.

So I gave it to my bro and it installed on his computer (I use vista, he uses XP) but it refuses to even read on my computer and I don't know why. I have Spore Creature Creator and that works fine, I even tried uninstalling it before putting Spore in but that didn't work either. Any other discs work perfectly fine, just not the Spore disc.

Does anyone have any ideas??:confused:

I have been searching everywhere online since yesterday, but I wasn't really able to find anything that involves my problem....
 
well, I understand that many people happen to dislike/hate it, but I actually enjoyed playing it when I got the chance.

You obviously have not played it for longer than ten minutes. Its a great concept for a game and to be honest the first microbial stage is actually pretty fun, but after that it becomes extremely dull and unfun.

You create your creatures which is the basis for the whole game, but you only get to enjoy them for one stage or manipulate them for one stage because once you reach tribal, they become pointless.

Also in the beginning the developers led us to believe there would be this big huge awesome multiplayer aspect of the game which is absolutely absent. Downloading other peoples crappy buildings and stuff does not count as multiplayer to me at all.

Basically, it was the worst most disappointing $50 i ever spent. If you talk to anyone over the age of 12, they will lead you to believe otherwise.
