Problems installing Windows 7

Hi

I just build myself a computer and decided to try and install windows 7 on it, as one of my friends got one of these downloaded copies I could use. I put in the the disc drive, fired the computer up and was ready to install.

Then it asked me where I want to install Windows, and instead of showing my hard drive is says: "No drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation". Problem is I've tried everything and no matter what I do, I can't get to install windows on my hard drive.

Oh, and when I turned the computer on and accessed boot menu, I could chose to boot from the hard drive only it didn't work. So my computer knows my hard drive is there but it wont let me install windows on it.

What should I do?

Thank you

If they are the student copies that you buy for $30 or so, yes thats legitimate. if it's pirated however, we can't help you.

EXACTLY!

Andershilbert did your friend downloaded the Windows 7 and then burned it on the DVD-ROM disk or did he have the original Windows 7 that was bought from Microsoft or other company that sells them???
If it was downloaded then we can't help you...
