Problems Overclocking E6600

I've been having a lot of trouble trying to overclock my E6600 (2.4GHZ dual-core) past 2.5 GHZ. I'm using a 9x multiplier and slowly increasing the FSB, but whenever I go past about 280, my computer BSODs and shuts down. I am completely lost as to what could be causing this, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them .

Specs:
CPU: E6600 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo
+Stock cooler, runs 40C on low-intensity applications
Mobo: IP35 Pro
GFX: 8800 GT
PSU: 650 watt BFG Tech GS Series (6-pin pcie, 24 pin, 8 pin)
RAM: 3 GIG DDR2 (2 GIG Patriot, 1 GIG Corsair)--I've tried with just the 2 gig patriot as well

I've tried changing the CPU voltage from 1.3V to 1.4V and 1.5V, changed the CPU multiplier, and I've made sure temperature and voltage limits have been safe and would not (as far as I know) result in a shutdown.

Thank you!

PS: the multiplier cannot be increased past 9x

try raising your memory timings a bit..say if they are 4.4.4.12 try 5.5.5.12 then if it still dont work 5.5.5.15 because most of the time memory can hold back an overclock before anything else

I've tried upping the ram speeds, increasing the VCORE, and increasing the voltage to the ram, but I still can't get past 2.5GHZ =/

Could you post your exact settings?
Ive got mine at 3.2 ghz stable and up to 3.6..well not so stable.
