I have an HP Pavillion a220n computer, Realtek ac97 Sound Card, and I'm using PolderbitS Recorder / Editor program for recording. This program worked great on my old computer, but I'm having problems now. When I record from my mini-disc player into the line-in jack on the back of my computer, my recording meter on the program goes whacky. If I move it up at all from Zero recording volume, the meter bounces off the top of the scale. It's either recording volume that is either way too high or none at all. I checked the recording volume control on my mixer (line-in) and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I uninstalled the sound card driver and re-installed it, and it made no difference. I even downloaded another recording program off the internet, and it too had the same problem. Also, if I plug into the line-in jack on the front of my computer, I must set the "signal" on my recording program to CD, and not line-in to get a signal. I am totally bewildered. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your feedback !!!!!
