Problems shutting down, restarting, sleeping and switching on!

Hi,
last week I purchased a new computer - (Medion Akoya All in One P4011D)

It was running smoothly until I noticed that when I put the computer to sleep it wouldn't sleep.
I tried to wake it but it was frozen on a black screen - I restarted the computer and used it until I was done. After I was finished I restarted the computer as the webcam was now playing up and not recognized. The restart, failed and took AGES to turn off. When it finally did restart the following message appeared saying a blue screen error had occurred causing an unexpected shutdown.

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\122210-23275-01.dmp
C:\Users\Jones\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-70496-0.sysdata.xml

Shut Down also has problems and doesn't shut down correctly and takes forever or sometimes just gets stuck on the 'Shutting Down' screen for hours!

Another thing that is failing to work on this computer is the System Restore, it is constantly coming up with a 'Critical Error' - I have tried various restore points and I keep on receiving the same response - System restore failed - Critical Error .

It also freezes when just browsing the internet!
Any help would be appreciated,
thanks

Sorry to hear about your problem, is there anything you had installed previously before these problems started occurring? Also if you brought your system second hand, or new, then either consult the shop you brought the system from, or get in touch with the person you brought the system from.

following message appeared saying a blue screen error had occurred causing an unexpected shutdown.
Don't you just love the shade of blue they used for such a dramatic error.

If your not 100% on the blue screen "Windows stop message" then I'll do my best to explain it simply, basically the the computer detects a problem usually hard ware or driver related, the Operating System then stops to a halt and the diagnostic information is shown on the blue screen. On the newer System's the PC's memory is dumped to a file for analysis later on.

Here is a little beginner guide on "Blue screens" which provides some information and help on fixing them. Blue screen guide.

I've had friends with these types of problems, You might find it's virus related, Malware, Trojans etc... If you could provide some scanning logs, I'll be able to assist you further, once I know what we are dealing with.

If you don't have any virus protection then here is a couple I recommend using,

AVG 2011
Malware Bytes Note: Do not install both! Either use Mal-bytes, or SuperAnti.
SuperAntiSpyware

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.
I bought it brand new from Sainsburys so I most likely will be going there to complain as I haven't really installed anything apart from Spotify, Kaspersky Internet Security and printer drivers!
I've done scans with kaspersky and nothing comes up, would you reccomend me trying Malware Bytes to check for malware as well then?

If I did have malware could this be the cause for the blue screen and system restore errors.

btw I have no idea how to post scan logs lol & would it be easier to just reformat or could that void any potential warranty etc?
thanks for the help!

UPDATE: I ran the Malware Bytes Software and scanned the system and no Malware was found within the system.

The critical error you are getting by using system restore may be solved by doing a repair install of Windows. Do you have the OS CD or a recovery CD?
Boot up in safe mode and see if you are still getting any errors or BSOD.

The computer has a partition on the hdd
which looks like this:

This should set it back to delivery state?

You have to reboot and use that recovery partition to recovery the other partitions on your drive (I think it will just reinstall the OS to factory defaults). Back up your data now before doing this. Also, before using the recovery partition, try booting up into safe mode with networking first and see if you are still having problems browsing the internet or if you get any blue screens.
