just bought a new flash drive (sandisk U3 Micro) but whenever i plug it in the found new hardware wizard comes up, then after searching it says it can't find the relevant drivers on the internet or anything. it didn't come with a driver cd because it's not supposed to require drivers with XP and there are no drivers on the internet. need to get this working for shcool, any help much appreciated!

I assume you've tried restarting and/or using different USB ports? It should work just fine with basically any OS besides 98 without drivers.

One other thing that comes to mind, probably isn't the issue, but Sandisk's U3 junk tends to cause more harm than good. Try the device on another PC. if it works, remove that U3 crap unless you have some use for it. Sandisk should have a program available for download that uninstalls it.

I have one of these two but if you try to remove the U3 files they will re-appear when you plug it into a new computer. Not sure how to permanently get rid of it. U3 is about useless...
