Problems with HDD in new system

I have just bought the parts for a new desktop, and assembled them:

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K
MOBO: Asus P8P67 B3
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti
HDD: Seagate ST31000528AS 1TB SATA2
Disc Reader: Lite-On IHOS104-08 4X SATA Blu-ray ROM Drive
RAM: Super Talent DDR3-1600 4GB
PSU: Corsair TX 850 W

This is the first time i try assembling my own computer.

After assembling it all, I try installing windows. But before it begins the installation, it ends with a blue screen; error 0x0000007B. I looked it up and it means that the setup could not access the hard drive. The exact same thing happens if unplug the hard drive alltogether, supporting that theory. I also tried connecting the hard drive to all available sata inputs on the motherboard, but none helped.

But why? Why will windows not recognize it? The motherboard recognizes it just fine, and says so during startup.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Specs for the hard drive: http://bit.ly/fMNPzN

What operating system are you trying to install? Check the bios and make sure the sata controller setting is set for IDE instead of ahci or raid.

Did you save settings before you exited out? If so, then I have no idea what to tell you to try next.
