Problems With My Internet

i am having a bit of a problem with my internet,
if i try and download something, it will download at full speed untill it hits roughly...50Mb, once 50Mb of the file has been downloaded, the internet just jams up and freezes, so i have to cancel and do it again, which is a bit of a problem with my online gaming aswel, since i ping out and get disconnected from servers after like, 2 minutes.

anyone got any ideas?

hmm, what kind of internet connection have you got? How are you connected (via a router? or straight into the modem). Could be an ISP problem if it's happening on some sites and not others. If you have a network, try connecting directly to the modem and see if it still happens.

We are running a home network with about 4-5 computers connected wireless. have tryed downloading with different browsers eg. IE FF ect.
and no difference, it wouldnt be the browser since it happens with my online gaming and communication programs aswel, all computers are connected through our router and 2 are connected directly with a cable, with the problem still happening.
have tryed a different router, reseted th router, and tryed plugging a PC straight through into the modem, Nothing. If non can come up with anything, i will try calling our hosting server and find out what is going on, thanks
 
Yes my computer is clean and running as fast as it was brand new, i am using avast, and no i dont believe my computer is full of malware, cause i have scan it with many different virus scanners that have found nothing, it does occasionally happen when i am surfing the net, it will freeze and i have to hit refresh or something, and yer it happens with everything i download.
