Problems with N1 wireless express card.

So my wireless on my compaq presario v6000 has been out for a while, its a common problem, apparently with the motherboard, and unfortunately im way out of warranty.

Ive been using a usb dongle but that easily gets pulled out and has recently stopped working so i thought going for a wireless express card would be simpler.

Wrong. My laptop doesnt even detect it. No lights on. When trying to install the part where it comes too 'plug ine xpress card to continue' just stays there and eventually turns to device not connected.

Help anyone?

I think you answered your own question. sounds like a mobo issue, try wiggling the card around in there... if it connects you can be sure the connection is loose. might be as easy as resoldering the part... im a pessimist though.
