Problems with second hard drive

installing secondary h/d. Master hard drive is seagate 20GB, inatslling seagate 40GB as secondary and recieving message "cannot find operating system" once connected both H/D??

im i missing something??
 
Make sure to check the jumpers on the back of the hard drive. on the hard drive that you do not want to boot the os on, set it to SLAVE
here is what a jumper looks like:

make sure the jumper on the back of your new hdd are set to slave it will tell you how to do this on the top of the hdd but it sounds more like your pc is trying to boot from your new hdd which doesnt contain windows so go into bios and make sure that the boot priority is set as follows 1st boot device floppy 2nd boot device should be your original hdd 3rd boot device cd rom
 
all jumpers set right. tried slave, cable select nothing works!! Bios is set correct.

Ive run out of ideas....HELP
