I am ruinning windows XP professional.
Graphics card was not installed correctly, so changed the colour settings and on rebooting, the desktop loads as a blank black screen.
It cannot be the monitor as i can see the windows logo etc on booting.
I tried F5'ing and got to the safe mode screen it took ages and eventually loaded as a blank screen again.
ive also tried the last know config which worked. The computer is definately loading up, as i can hear the pop up noise when the wireless network connection is established. It must all be there i just cannot see it.
Any ideas?
thanks

Do you have your old card or onboard video you can use if so put the old card back in boot to it and uninstall the drivers and such for the new card then put the new card back in and reinstall the drivers.

ok, did u says that u can hear a pop-up but u can'tee it. I don't really know ur pc condition, but something like that had hppen to me. my situation is the windows is boot up but there is nothing in the screen but just a destkop background. even a mouse clik doesnt work. So i press ctrl+alt+del then the task manager was open. from there i can see no processor are working, so i clik file and choose new task. fro there i access my local disk that have an widows file, then open a folder system32 and find a restoration application. then i restore back my pc to checpoint or early time before it. then when the restoration finish, all system back to normal. if ur condition same to me it maybe work if not, try to repair ur widows installation by put ur xp cd... hope it can help ,.;)
