Processor and Ram

How can i see if my motherboard can use AMD Athlon X2 or not and plus if the maximum RAM that my motherboard can handle is 2GB RAM then is there anyway that i could do to my motherboard to have a higher maximum size of RAM.

Please help me i really need to do this since i want to run vista faster and more other things.

If you tell everyone the exact model number of your Motherboard that would help with answering your questions. Also if the max RAM is 2gb then all you will be able to do is use a USB stick with Speedboost, otherwise you need a new MB.

if your looking for a cheap processor and MB
then i would suggest
AMD athlon X2 5400 which put out 2.8ghz
AM2 GeForce 6100 MB
they are alright, but depends on what your doing on your comp
