Processor and thermal compound

I was wondering if putting too much thermal compound between the processor and the heatsink may fry the processor. I use "Antic Silver" as thermal compound. I have one of those old AMD systems.

It shouldn't really "FRY" your CPU but you shouldn't put too much thermal compound on it

1. Antic Silver or Arctic silver?
2. Too much can be a bad thing, potentially REALLY bad (i.e. FRY) depending on exactly how much you put in. "Normal" overdoses are usualy fine
