Processor choice

I am on a budget so should I go with a E6600 OEM open box for 177.
Or a new E6600 for 317? I am replacing the cooling device so I do not need them.
 
Thats what I was thinking. I just wanted to check. For just $7 more then a normal processor price. I can get the processor and Zalman fan.
 
Sounds like a good deal, you've made sure the zalman fan will fit on the board/in your case right? some of them are a very tight fit.
 
I´m probably going to do the same. I have a thermaltake big typhoon-will it work with C2D or is it only old 775s? That thing looks like it would rip a hold in a motherboard if put sideways. I´m actually afraid to use it. :cool:

I believe the receipt/invoice has to be dated prior to when the rebate ends. If you just printed out the rebate after it ended, it will be invalid.

But $277 is still a good deal, and since your replacing the cooler, I would do that. Of course you will also miss out on the 20 language manual and cool case sticker :P
