Processor comparison question

Hi

I don't know much about these new processors. At the moment I have a laptop which has a 1.83Ghz Pentium M (I use this laptop for studio audio recording). I am interested in buying an Acer Aspire 9813, which has a Core 2 Duo 1.66Ghz processor.

Could anyone give me some idea of how these processors compare, peformance wise?

I think I read somewhere that even the lowest speed Core 2 Duo would out-perform the highest speed Pentium M -- is that true?

The C2D will kick pentium m ass, since it's a dual core and it's much better build than the old pentium M

It'll be heaps better .. like prob like 4 times better(liturally) ..
