Processor Dilemma!

Just a simple answer guys this is doing my head in. Basically I can't make my mind up and choose between the Core 2 Duo E8400 or the Core 2 Quad Q6600!

I mainly use my PC for games so I have been advised to go for the E8400, but wouldn't upgrading to the Quad chip now save time and hassle later on and give my PC more longevity in the long run?

I think any of the new Quad cores (45nm).

The 2.5Ghz Quad is the same price as the 2.4 quad and the 3.0 Duo.

I hear that the quad is more smooth, and well, faster.

Actually a few do...I think both Crysis and Gears of War are multithreaded.

Am not sure about that... I think Crysis doesn't use the 4 cores. But like I said, I am not sure about it.
