i know almost nothing about computers. I am planning on buying a new computer that has an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 Quad Core Processor 2.33Ghz. I want a computer that is good enough to play empire total war which needs at least a 2.4 GHz Single Core Intel or AMD equivalent processor. Is the computer good enough. I would appreciate quick feedback as i am buying the computer very shortly

If you want to save a little money and get better performance you could go for a higher clocked core2duo processor which would be more powerful for the price with thte game you said you wanted to play.

They are on the same chipset (LGA775) so you don't have to fret over a different motherboard, and even though it only has 2 cores instead of 4, it will play better because total war isn't programmed to utilise 4 cores. Most games now are also only programmed for 2 cores, so those extra 2 are there just to run the programs in the background, which the daul core can do without any noticable performance loss.
