OK, I have my new AMD 4200 in my hand, my old 3500 is in the computer. Can someone please tell me what to do other than just the physical removal of the old processor and the installation of the new one? Or perhaps give me a link to a site that does?

OTHER than the actual physical removal and installation of the processor. I can do that fine. I need to know about stuff like updating the BIOS or whatever. I can put the processor in fine, Im just unsure about I have to do after that

Whoops.. sorry. well there really isn't much else to do 'cept put on the thermal compound and boot it up. You're bios should automatically detect the cpu.. if it doesn't thats when you think about a flash.

The thermal compound is already on. OK and if it doesnt, what is this flash thing you speak of? Im kind of new to this, but I cant bring myself to pay to have this done. They charge 40$ to install video cards down the road, and it took me about 5 mins

I managed to install it without too many problems. The people I bought the computer from put a password on the BIOS so people wouldnt screw with it, so I had to over write that, but it went pretty good
