I've deleted your other 2 threads. There is no need to create more than one about this issue. Please continue on with this thread.

you did not need to post this twice in two different sections, this is the correct place to put this thread.

----------------

My laptop runs at around 50 usually. My mums pc runs between 85 and 110. It still works. If your processor gets too hot it will turn off the pc anyway.

I want you to download a program called core temp. Its free and you can find it here. Just do a screenshot of the window or just type in the details here. I need the TJMax and the tempreatures of all the cores when the computer is idle. Not doing anything...

The next step requires you to download Spirit and Smilemans bench mark software - blackhole benchmark. I do not need the details in this program but just because it makes your cpu run at 100% when you run it and click bench mark. If after five minutes it still has not shut down... your machine is perfectly fine. After around five minutes, you will probably have to close the program in task manager if it has frozen :) Not the proper use of the program but meh... its ok with spirit and it will produce some data for me to help you with. :)

Hope this helps :)

EDIT: Sorry to any mods.... I have been typing this for about 10 minutes and at the time I was the first poster.

Did you apply new thermal paste when you installed the new CPU?
^ This. Make sure you don't apply too little or too much. Also check for dust, get a can of air and spray it into the vents to get rid of the dust. The dust acts as a blanket and traps the heat.

tjmax = 100c
core 1 = 62c min=60c max=76c
core 2 =62c min=60c max-76c

how do i download spirit and the benchmark wont work as im running 32bit

running prime 95 as i type its been running for 4mins on max temp test and core temp is still tjmax 100c both cores min is 57c max 93c load 100% how long do i run it for?

what do u mean by stability test mate i only use my laptop for hour or 2 then turn it off i just wanna make sure doing daily stuff like itunes internet and youtube and office documents wont burn out my cpu/motherboard while this test is running im still able to use my laptop smoothly so 20min test?

stability test is only useful if your overclocking. It basically tells you if your processor is putting out the right numbers. You just need it for a tempature test.
