Processor Overclocked

I just recently oc'd my pentium 4 northwood core and I would like to know if I'm pushing my processor 2 hard 2 fast. My default FSB is 133mhz and I upped it to 150 and the bus speed is now up to 600mhz. In order to keep my computer stable I had to up the default voltage on the cpu from 1.46 V +6%.

you needed to up the voltage in order to oc from 133 to 150? seems pretty low to need to do that. When you up the voltage, it shortens the lifespan of the cpu, but as long as the temps are fine, then there shouldnt be anything to worry about now.

So as long as the temps are fine my cpu will still last as long or maybe just a little bit less than it's expected lifespan.

it should last a little less than the expected lifespan. usually when you overclock a processor it cuts the lifespan in half

I don't have to up the voltage until i get to 150, but I have to put it as high as it can go which is +6%

as long as your proccesor is properly cooled it wont decrease your life span by realy nothing

untrue, when you overclock it shortens the lifespan of the cpu. Especially when you up the voltage.

true. but it isnt halfed ;) and its the temperature that does it, not the Voltage. if 1 CPU would be running with a Vcore of 1.6V and a other one at
2V. the temp of the 2V one is much higher. but if they were exacly the same temperature everywhere ( wich is impossible ), the life span should be the same. ( note.. the CPU's would have to be exacly the same tough.. :P)

Temp Sensor Broken

Do you think that my cpu should be hotter than it is since my cpu fsb was increased? Maybe my temperature sensor is broken?

You'll only start to see real temperature increases when you increase the vcore

Can't overclock

Even though it looked like my pc was stable oc'd at 2.90ghz it eventually blue screened. Since I won't notice any difference if I overclock lower than 2.90ghz I don't know if I will be able to over clock cause my board doesn't like it or maybe the processor doesn't. I will try a 2% voltage increase. If that doesn't work I guess I will have to wait until I get a better board for overclocking and try again.

Do any of you guys/gals think the 2% voltage increase is a good Idea or should I just clock it down to it's original clock speed.
