Program crashed when I try to play a DVD movie!

My DVD rewriter can play all other types of media fine BUT when i try to play a DVD movie the program i use (windows media player / Power DVD) just crashes.
This is a really annoying problem as ive changed it to my old DVD ROM but still it crashes! firmware is up to date, cables are plugged, region is set.....

I seriously am out of ideas >< Anything i can try???

try a reformat... or a reinstall of powerdvd. try cleaning the discs.

What format the hardrive!? its not just powerdvd windows media player crashes too

try uninstalling and reinstalling. delete all folders and registry keys when you uninstall.

have you tried other DVD's?

The thing is i took this out my old pc as it is fairly new and now i jus cnt play DVD's. t didnt even come with any discs to install the thing any way. I'll look for some drivers or something

Are you trying to burn them? or just play them?

Just play them...Its impossible....
