program for temp??

ok have installed this program, after clicking it the first time it crashed my comp lol, i restarted and it works now except everything is blank in all the boxes?

everytime i try to open speedfan now it comes up and then str8 away turns off my system with all fans etc still running cannot hit reset or power got to switch off at mains, whats the problem here?

Just uninstall it, its buggie on some systems, just install sandra lite, it cant change any settings but you can read them

You don't download a windows version of the bios. The bios is the "Basic Input/Output System" which is only run by a computer when first powered on.

I know, but I wanted to correct him for my own reasons, not for him being a smart-ass :). Plus, the amount of not so literate computer people that may read that and look into downloading a random bios version and trying to flash theres to it after having read random instructions is a possibility, so I wanted to clear that up.

In regards to the topic, I use speedfan, and it seems a good application thus far. Also, due to me having an Asus motherboard, I use their PC Probe application also.

sandra lite

yeah sandra lite is like everest i use everest ultimate but sandra lite doesnt seem to work for me anymore i click to run it but it doesnt run it used to work tho i uninstalled and reinstalled and it still dont work for me but my everest always worked for me no prob

SpeedFan generally goes right on most systems without a hitch. Apparently you had a bad install or it is in conflict with something already running on the system. That could be a firewall or antivirus program to see that. The first thing to do right off is boot up in safe mode and simply remove it while nothing else is running. This is the first time I've heard of anyone having a problem like this with it.

I have seen this before with speed fan there are some mobo's it just does not play well with. I have seen it even pick up fans that are not there and say they are running at like 9rpm lol but yea most times this is a great program it just has a few glitches still but its free so who can complain lol

Well the usual rec for speedfan besides being a freeware is the small size and easy installation. It doesn't chew up hard drive space like a good sized benchmark program. Sandra Lite 2005 is found at http://www.download.com/3000-2086-10018691.html
Sandra Lite 2007 SP1 is available at http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/index.html?dir=dload&location=sware_dl_3264&langx=en&a= Note that these are sharewares not freewares.

Everest's free home version is found at http://www.aplusfreeware.com/categories/util/optdiag.html But some have been getting odd temp readings using it.

i want to use sandralite but everytime i try it comes up with

"could not initialise database! check database file, database server, or mdac"

?????

wow this isnt right ?????
done benchmark on memory on Everest
CPU CPU Clock Motherboard Chipset Memory Read Speed
Athlon64 2433 MHz Unknown RS480/RX480 PC3200 DDR SDRAM 993 MB/s

I had some fun with that one myself. Fresh Diagnose is a freeware I'll give a try found at http://www.freshdevices.com/freshdiag.html SensorsView 1.2 is another item to look over at http://www.freewarefiles.com/program_9_222_16689.html But it shows a cooler cpu temp here by a 6C difference from SpeedFan or the Asus Probe I? I found that a little too far off to be reliable. But it puts a little digital display of the supposed cpu temp in the system tray while reading a far lower temp.
