Program not wanting to be uninstalled

Previously this was my brothers computer. He installed an anti-virus program on the computer (Panda Antivirus Platinum). Now, I'm trying to install F-Secure on the computer but it says that you must manually unistall the previous anti-virus program. So we tried unistalling it in Add or Remove Programs but nothing happends when you click "Change/Remove" on the program. In my moments of dispair I have tracked down all PAV files on the computer and deleted them but with no success. So my question is: How will I get it out of the way so I can install F-Secure?

Thanks for your time.

Now that you've deleted files, no uninstall routine will work unless you re-install panda, reboot, let it come up and be happy... Then use the uninstaller from the start menu>All Programs>Panda...

Give that a shot first. :)

Well........ The problem is harder than that. He downloaded PAV as a .torrent and the real PAV you must buy. I won't download it again as a .torrent because it was corrupt.

Well, F-Secure is probably recognising the registry entries that panda has created. It may be a long job but you must trawl through all of the "software" registry keys and delete anything that resembles panda antivirus installation records.

MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP THE REGISTRY AND STORE IT ON A CD BEFORE YOU TRY THIS.

Yeah, like dragon said, you need to go into the registry (start/run/regedit) and remove any keys related to the software, than go look in your c: drive, and remove any folders with subfolder/files related to the software.
