Program that records average CPU core temp?

I'm running CoreTemp currently to monitor my temps but wish it had the ability to show me the average temperature. It shows me the min and max but those numbers don't really concern me. What I really want to do is sort of set up a little experiment where I can document whether or not my laptop cooling pad is really actually giving me a difference in average core temp.

So does anyone know of such a program?

It's a neat program but it doesn't do what I'm looking for...
