Programs flashing

Hi everyone. I have an issue. For some unknown reason windowed programs are not responding and flash white, only to return to normal and repeat a few seconds later, this happens with every program except Chrome. I've tried disabling the GTX 850M and it still happens. The laptop itself is an out of the box Aspire V17 Nitro. What is wrong?

If its a brand new machine and its done it since day 1, take it back and exchange it.
