Pros/ Cons of using computer for home theater?

Building a new computer(first time) and my goal is to use it primarily for home theater and gaming. I've been advised to get the 8800GT for my card, so Im wondering if that will have any problems being patched over to my 60" LCD? I know Ill have to get the DVI to HDMI cable, but I'm curious if anyone has done this and had problems.
 
I've done it to my 32' LCD TV and the picture has never looked better. With an 8800 GT as well! Highly recommended!
