Protecting Folders

Is there any way to pass word protect certain folders? My computer is sometimmes used by other people in our office. I would like to store sensitive files in a folder and then protect the folder from people accessing it. Please let me know if this can be done.

There is a security tab but no sharing tab. The security tab appears to only grant permision for access for network users. I am assuming this would allow them to view documents from their own work station.

when i get home i will post a link to a zip file i have uploaded... and i have used it and many people have used it on this forum and they seem to like it.

What OS?

You can get a third party utility to create an encrypted disk image and toss your folders in there, and then password protect it. Just remember to never forget your password or use an actual word (to keep it from dictionary attacks), because if you forget the password then your data is gone, but at least its safe.

If you are by slight chance running OS X, this feature is built into the OS.

AES 128bit encryption should do just fine since it would take a super computer a few decades to decrypt that.
