Protection AVG

Greetings, I have always used AVG free addition. What do you use? What do you suggest. Just setting up a new to us PC. Thanks Richard
 
hey richard i used to use avg aswell, but for a while now i have been using microsoft security essentials its good, and isnt download hungry after the initial setup, there is a seperate version for 32 and 64 bit, i would rate certainly as good if not slightly better than avg 9.0
 
avg is good but i have switched to microsoft security essentials as it is very light weight and never hogs system resources
i did have problem where it didnt completly remove a threat just neaturlized it but i got that sorted,
its free and it is more than just an anti virus also has spyware protection etc, i prefer and all in one package for everyday use rather than having to use seperate programs
 
Thanks Guys, Will I downloaded the it. Can't run the how to because we have dial up. I'm doing the update now, taking a long time. Thanks for pointing this out. Richard

Hi, The down load from microsoft was stright forward but the nessary upgrades have been going on for hours and getting nowhere. Not sure what to do. There is no way of asking Microsoft that I know of. Richard


Was finally able to download the updates and get the program working I like it. Thanks for suggesting it. Richard
