PSU Bad Reviews

How many of the reviews do you think of people complaining about PSUs dying are legitimately because the PSU is crap and not because that person didn't know the wattage per voltage at which the PSU was rated and burnt it up?

Don't trust newegg reviews and the like. A lot of the people on there are idiots, rating something low because they didn't research specs before they bought it.

Stick to sites like jonnyguru and hwsecrets.

I would not completely disregard all NewEgg reviews. There are some ratings on there that are written by people who have no knowledge of computer technology and are pretty worthless. I like to look at all the NewEgg reviews (especially if there are many of them) as a whole. If there are around 100 reviews written and a lot of them are negative or positive you can get a feel for the quality of the product.

Both of the above post are true. Reviews at like retail places like Newegg/Tiger and so on is a 50/50 thing. You dont know how many of these people are idiots or have any knowledge. But if any item has over 50 reviews and gets like a 17% good reviews, you can pretty well guess its junk. Or the opposite is true too, if it has over 50 reviews and get a 97% good.

The reviews on sites said above like jonnyguru can give you a good idea of how well its built and if it performs as good as its spec. But since they only test one unit. You have no idea how many of these units come DOA or just has a bad habit of burning out in a short time.

So put both of the above together with word of mouth from sites like this to make a good decision and go for it.
