PSU compatability

I am currently trying to fix my mom's computer. I am pretty sure that it needs a new PSU. But before I go and buy it, I wanna try and make sure that is the problem. So what I wanted to do was take the PSU out of my own computer and connect it to my moms. My computer is custom made, my mom's is an HP. Besides size is there anything I should be aware of that would prevent me from wanting to connect my PSU to the HP motherboard? I don't wanna fry the motherboard or something. Any help would be great. Thanks

You can connect the PSU to your mom's motherboard...no issues. It will not cause any damage. I have had a 1000w Antec connected to a 7 year old Dell computer for testing...it worked fine.

It should work fine. In general, if it has enough wattage and the right connectors, it will work.
