PSU Compatibility etc.

Ok so I'm mildly new to all of this and my dad bought me this computer last year.

And I have been mostly just playing World of Warcraft on it, it works well. But with all the effects, low end video card, and 24" monitor. Even a low game like WoW running windowed at a lower resolution and half of less than half quality settings I'm running at 15-20 fps.

I want to play more pc games such as Fallout 3 but from WoW I know it won't work well unless I drop the settings and I don't want to do that.

I want to get a new video card which I have been looking at at LEAST an Nvidia 9600. I could get a 9400 with my current PSU but I know I want something more powerful than that.

So more more so what my question is. Is when an older computer stopped working my dad bought a new PSU for it and that didn't fix it so he just got a new computer. But that old PSU is still sitting around. So I want to know if this PSU could/would work with my computer. And if it will be enough to power a higher end Video card.

Yeah the antec will power a 9600GT. Just pop your case open and compare the P/S to see if it will fit. Some OEM cases have there own style P/S.

Ok cause I asked a friend before as that PSU has dual 12v one is 17a and the other is 19a and he said the max amps of the PSU was 19 so I didn't think I would work.. But now that I have looked into it more I just needed another to ask to make sure.

Though I had to make sure that it would work with my computer as well... so many wires O.O

Maybe because your running a 24" inch monitor is the cause of low fps, but yea should be ok with the 9600gt, just not sure if you will feel comfortable playing while the 9600gt is working its ass off with Fallout 3 with ok settings. But should be ok for now!

Yeah that's why I run at a lower res and windowed, also helps when you have an instant messaging program up and someone IMs me.

Though right now the only thing I really am worried about is if the PSU has the right wires etc to connect and power everything.

Edit: Salvation! I was looking at all the wires on the Antec PSU and knew that there wasn't enough wires for everything, so I looked up what it should have, the website said it had 2 PCI-E but I didn't see any on it. I found all these empty slots on the back. So I went searching through all this junk and found all the other wires. NOW I'm sure it can power everything haha..

Also with that PSU, what is the max/highest end video card that I could get that that PSU could power?

Ok so I put in that Antec and its working fine.

Now I gotta look at video cards. I said I'd want at least a 9600 but now I'm trying to see how high end of a card I could get that this PSU could power.
